Mash-Ups seem to be the in thing at the moment, so it takes a finely crafted one to stand out from the pack and here it is - Mark Ronson's "Toxic" combining Britney Spears with Ol' Dirty Bastard (a.k.a. Dirt McGirt).
Taking Britney's pop smash “Toxic,” adding ODB's ruggedness, some horns and some general funkiness, Ronson has produced a Motown/Stax sounding soul/R&B/Rap track that couldn't sound more different than the original. Ronson’s "Toxic" is the sort of track that grows on you the more you listen to it, it is also one of those tracks that makes you just want to dance to it. The single acts as the perfect teaser for Ronson's upcoming genre melding album "Versions," which is due out in April featuring similarly warped mash-ups.
If you're still not convinced, go out and get the limited edition 10" double-sided vinyl with Ronson's reworking of Coldplay's "God Put A Smile On Your Face," which is worth the cover price alone.
