Rap legend Snoop Dogg has been cleared of civil assault after a civil jury decided he did not hit a member of the crowd during a concert in 2005.
During a court hearing last Friday (May 8), the jury ruled while Snoop, real name Calvin Broadus, was not guilty of the civil assault and battery, Richard Monroe Jr. did suffer injuries during the concert in Seattle and awarded him $449,000 in damages, which are to be paid by Snoop's record label, rapper Soopafly and other unnamed parties.
Monroe's attorneys argued that Broadus had hit him with a brass knuckle microphone when he jumped on stage, but a video shown during the trial did not feature Snoop hitting Monroe.
